Innocent Plea

Innocent Plea is a movie about a law student who gets kicked out of law school and disowned by his father, Mr. Fox, and his brother, William Fox . Innocent Plea is a short independent film (downloadable underneath) which is the basis of a larger script and treatment called Rejected Professional. The plot centers around Tom Fox, an arrogant, law student and part-time assistant in his father’s law firm, who sets up a ransom plan to get back at his father, and brother, for disowning him. In the movie, Innocent Plea, there are a series of events which lead to Tom Fox’s desire to get even with his family including being disowned by his father after Tom is expelled from law school. Tom is caught cheating and kicked out of law school. Then, Tom ends up having a fling with Anne Johnson who is his brother William’s fiancee.

Anne Johnson breaks off the affair saying that she is going to marry William Fox, Tom’s brother, and that they have no future. The fact that Mr. Fox is making William a senior partner in the law firm also leads to Tom’s demise. In the movie, Tom tricks his father, and brother, and Anne into meeting him for dinner.

At the dinner, Tom Fox pulls out a gun and demands that William, his brother, goes to his father’s law safe and bring back 1 million dollars which is stored in a special safe.

The film Innocent Plea, and the script itself, were assembled in flashbacks meaning the film starts with William Fox going to get money from his father’s safe at the beginning of the week, then flashes forward to showing the events leading up to the ransom plan. So, the audience sees Tom Fox holding his family hostage at the beginning of the film and then takes us through each day of the week of the events leading up to the ransom plan.

Innocent Plea was shot in 1998 and finished in 2002. Innocent Plea won an award at the Alliance for Community Media, Northeast Regional Film Festival in 2004. Innocent Plea received 3rd place in the dramatic programming- professional category. Doug Martin directed the film, Ian McGlocklin worked as director of photography, and Azeem Robinson acted as assistant director.

No One To Help is a feature length screenplay about a boys and girls club worker, and part-time mental health counselor, David Waters who ends up becoming a counselor to Johnny Rich.

Johnny Rich is a troubled 16 year old who witnesses David Waters’s best friend, Jim Towers get killed by Johnny Rich’s brother, Sam Rich, a gang member. The murder occurs in a 7 eleven store. Shortly afterwards, surprisingly, 16 year old, Johnny Rich is sent to the boys and girl’s club as a new client for David Waters to work with.

“No One To Help” follows the relationship between the troubled youth, Johnny Rich and his counselor/big brother, David Waters. Despite, Johnny’s relationship to someone who murdered his best friend, Jim Towers, Brian Waters is driven to help this underprivileged, troubled youth, Johnny Rich escape from a gang lifestyle.

Deadly Secrets

Deadly Secrets is a full length teleplay about Chris Sanders, a young doctoral candidate, and new graduate teacher, who after being released from prison for being wrongfully accused of killing his mother, pursues his doctorate and falls in love with Allison Weeks.

The story unfolds where Chris Sanders arrives at the university without anyone having knowledge of the time he spent in prison. Chris Sanders immediately falls in love with Allison Weeks, a graduate student, and student teacher, in the psychology teacher. Allison Weeks is in an abusive relationship to Greg.

also a doctorate candidate who teaches physical fitness at the university.

As the script takes off, Allison and Chris end up having similar interests in psychology and there are noticeable instances where Greg is seen verbally and physically abusing Allison. Chris tries to get Allison to break off her future marriage to Greg which Allison is unwilling to do. Eventually, Greg, who is also chairman of the health department, finds out about Chris Sanders’s past time in prison.

When Chris Sanders physically confronts Greg about his abusive behavior towards Allison Greg vows that he will come clean to students and faculty about his abuse. Greg even says that he will approach the dean and offer his resignation as a teacher and withdraw as a doctoral candidate. Instead, Greg lies and says that Chris Sanders has been physically abusing Allison and explains that he knows Chris has been in prison for murdering his mother. Eventually, the truth comes out about what has been happening to Allison.

Abuse Of Power

Abuse of Power is a full length script about an undercover cop, Ken Cain, who is sent to go undercover as a graduate, student teacher to find out how money has been stolen from a college trust fund. The script begins with Mr.Stonebinder, the dean of the college discussing how trust fund money specifically geared towards working with the homeless has been taken.

In the script, Abuse of Power, Mr.Stonebinder sets up an investigation as it is suspected that one of the teachers, or students, has stolen the money. Ken Cain discovers that Mr.Stonebinder set up the whole scenario.
